Existing
Cisco Secure ACS UNIX (CSU) customers who need access to some of
the many recent new AAA features (eg Identity based networking,
802.1x, posture vaidation) have been faced
with the dilemma of how (and where) to migrate their existing configuration and user database.
extraxi,
in partnership with Cisco, can now offer exclusive migration services from
Cisco Secure UNIX to the current ACS Windows server product (ACSW).
The package can be tailored to the customers individual needs
ranging from ad-hoc support to fully managed migration and supply
of a pre-configured ACS appliance.
Due
to the Unix and Windows versions being fundamentally different
products the migration process poses many challenges such as
mapping CSUs nested group structure to the ACSW flat group model.
The Cisco Survey and Migration Tool (SMT) was designed to perform
some of the "heavy lifting" bulk transfer of user records, however it is still down to the customer to design and
implement a suitable group configuration (access profile) in ACSW
and other one-time administrative configuration tasks eg. setup of
connection to remote One-Time-Password (OTP) server.

Deployment
survey & planning
extraxi will collect information about your deployment and
configuration, using Cisco's CSU
Survey tool and extraxi's own collection tools. A detailed
report on the required migration tasks and customer acceptance
test plan template is then produced.
Self
migration support
Ad-hoc per incident support while you perform the migration.
Managed
migration
extraxi will use your existing configuration to create an
equivalent version on the ACSW product. The new
configuration will be tested according to the acceptance test
plan prior to delivery. We can supply a ready-to-load
configuration or fully pre-configured ACS appliance.
On-site
visits during managed/self migration
An extraxi consultant may visit your premises to provide
personal migration support.
Post
migration support
Ad-hoc per incident support while you iron any bugs out of
the new ACSW installation.
